Abstract

Study Title: the training needs for teachers of math. in the city of Karbala. objectives of the study: the study aimed to identify the training needs for teachers of mathematics in the city of Karbala. methodology of the study: the study followed descriptive approach. Study population and sampling: the study population consisted of all teachers of math. In the intermediate and preparatory schools of Karbala they are (534)teachers and selected only(172) in manner stratified random sample questionnaire was applied to them. Tool of the study: the researcher adopted the scale of (Othman 2000)that measures the training needs of teachers in math , the scale consists of (56)items after checked by a group of experts to make the suitable changes according to the validity and reliability . Results of the study: the most important finding of the study is summarized as follows. All times questionnaire was needed medium and large except the little one times.There is No statistically significant differences in the significant level (α=0.05) between the mean responses of teachers in determining the actual needs them in the teaching of mathematics on the total score attributed to Administrative Unit, and educational stage.There is No statistically significant differences in the significant level (α=0.05) between the mean responses of teachers in determining the actual needs them in them in the teaching of mathematics on the total score attributed to sex.The main recommendations: to emphasize the need to train teachers in mathematics on the issues revealed by the study.
