Penalty for work for public benefit in the Jordanian Youth Law No. 32 of 2014

Abstract

The Penalty of the work for the public benefit is considered as one of the modern alternative sanctions that were beginning to resort to by the most of the countries in the criminal policy, In order to reform convicts and rehabilitation of juvenile convicts and re-integrate them into society. And also reduce the expenditures on prisons and ease the financial burden for the state. Consequently, this study dealt with the Penalty of the work for the public benefit in the Jordanian Juveniles Act No. 32 of 2014. This is achieved through three demands, where the introductory one addressed what is the penalty of the work for the public benefit and its historical development, and this was to clarify what this qualifying mode of punishment is, it also dealt with terms of Penalty of the work for the public benefit and its application in cases of criminal legislation. In the second requirement the study addressed the characteristics and purposes of the Penalty of work for the public benefit and means of its success. At the end of the research we came to some conclusions the most important one was the absence of a clear mechanism in the Jordanian legislation to the concept of this alternative punishment and implementation mechanism. And that happened as a result of not determining the business assigned to the Juvenile offender, not determining those who can perform the work in its favor, not determining the hours of work that can convict judged by
