Sultan Murad I, in 1389, achieved great victory over the Balkan armies and the Ottoman hegemony over the Balkans lasted for five centuries The Ottoman state has faced many conflicts and objections by the Serbs and has entered conferences, treaties and reform programs in an attempt to contain the situation in the region and make it more stable.
