Mosul and Nineveh in the Writings of German Jewish Traveler with the Petachia of Ratisbon D: 614 A.H / 1217 A.D

Abstract

This research try to put light on the observation of the traveler Petachia of Ratisbon in the Mosul and Nineveh through his travel's book which carried his name the important of this research apper that isn't wrote any Arabic studies about it. The researcher attempt to follow this next that related of two cities by study and analysis. we started it by many of resources and foreign studies in addition to the researches of Iraqi Virtual Scientific Library which introduce important article about Petachia of Ratisbon this article divided in two research this first take the like of Petachia of Ratisbonthis and the names that he know by it and take about his family and his study and then talked about the famous traveler that contemporary to him and talked about their travel's and he talk about the religion and political to his travel and the regions that he pass on it. In addition to the style of the travel and he also focus on the book of traveler and clarification the copy of manuscript which print and translate.The second research focus on descript the Mosul and Nineveh and try to stand on the text that talked about two cities analysis explain criticism and comparison to paint picture by his embodied views in the travel book.
