Effect of supplementation different level of herbal methonine as substitute synthetic methionine on the productive performance of Japanese Quail (Coturnix.Coturnix Japonica).

Abstract

This study was conducted at Babylon protectress in al-mussaib, babylon governorate from 18/3/2016 to 18/7/2016 to determine the effect of adding herbal methionine and compare with dl-methionine in productive performance of Japanese quail birds. A total 240 female quail at 8 week of age dividing randomly to eight treatments, each treatment three replicates (10 female/replicate) . The birds were fed on a basal diet with added herbal and synthetic methionine during 16 week of age . Treatments were as follows: (T1) control group (without supplementing synthetic methionine), (T2): diet supplemented 0.25 gm dl-methionine .kg-1feed . (T3) diet supplemented 0.5 gm dl-methionine .kg-1 feed. (T4) diet supplemented 0.75 gm dl-methionine /kg feed. (T5) control treatment (without supplementation of herbal methionine). (T6) diet supplementing 0.25 gm herbal methionine .kg-1 feed. (T7) diet supplementing 0. 50 gm herbal- methionine .kg-1 feed. (T8) diet supplementing 0.75gm Herbal- methionine.kg-1 feed. Result reveded significant increase for herbal methionine at level of 0.5 gm/kg-1 feed compared with Synthetic methionine treatment for traits in egg production (H.D), egg weight, egg mass and feed conversion ratio, while
