EVALUATION OF SOME PERFORMANCE CRITERIA OF THE MACHINERY UNIT UNDER DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TRACTOR FORWARD SPEED

Abstract

Field experiment was performed in one of the College of Agriculturefields - Baghdad University - Abu Ghraib for the year 2016 in silt clay loam soil,to study some of the performance indicators of the machinery unit. Tractor typeArmaTrac 854e 2010 and the second tractor type ITM 285 New 2013 with theprimary tillage equipment, were used in this study as machinery unit. Threetypes of primary tillage equipment included moldboard plow, chisel plow andsweep plow and five forward speed of tractor (1.5, 2.53, 3.75, 5.3, 6.71 km/h)were studied in this experiment. Slippage percentage (%), pull force (kN) ,Production field (he / hr) and disturbed soil size were measured in this study. The results were analyzed using the order of the spilt - plot with randomizecomplete block design with three replicates and tested by the way averages lesssignificant difference and the level of probability of (0.05). The results showedthat sweep plow got a lower rate of slippage percentage was (11.73%) and lesspull force was (9.07 kN) while the chisel plow got a highest value of Productionfield (0.99 he /hr) and highest value of disturbed soil size (1853.5 m3/hr) , and thefirst speed (1.5 km/hr) got a lower rate of slippage percentage was (8.13%) andless value of pull force was (7.43 kN) while the fifth speed got a highest value ofproduction Field (1.51 he /hr) and highest value of disturbed soil size (2805.7m3/hr), overlap between the sweep plow and the first speed registered a lowerrate of slippage percentage was (6.36%) and less pull force was (5.6 kN) while theoverlap between the chisel plow and the fifth speed (6.71 km /hr) got a highestvalue of production Field (1.83 he/hr) and highest value of disturbed soil size(3360.9 m3/hr).
