Psychological differentiation and its relation to self-esteem among university students

Abstract

Find aimed at identifying the psychological level of differentiation, and the level of self-esteem among college students, and to identify the nature of the relationship between the psychological differentiation and self-esteem among university students, according to the variable gender (males and females). In order to achieve the objectives of Search included a sample of (100) students and by 50 male and 50 female students from the faculties of the University of Tikrit. As the researcher to adopt the psychological differentiation prepared by the scale (Kaabi, 2007) and consists of this scale from four areas, namely (Reply emotional reaction, Alana site, cutting emotional, merging with others) and consists measure in its final form (41) items, and after extracting the truth virtual paragraphs measure amounted reliability coefficient (81), which is good. As for the variable second, a self-esteem was the researcher building measure self-esteem, which is his image initial of (35) items and after the presentation of the experts and arbitrators to extract the virtual sincerity became the measure final his image consists of (30) items and after extracting the virtual honesty paragraphs measure amounted reliability coefficient ( 80) It is a good stable. After extraction of validity and reliability of the variables, the researcher apply the scales on basic research sample, and after gathering information forms have been processing the data statistically using T. test and Pearson correlation coefficient, the researcher reached the following conclusions:1. The sample has a differentiation myself.2. There is a difference between males and females in favor of females in the psychological differentiation.3. The sample has a good level of self-esteem.4. There is a statistically significant difference between males and females in self-esteem.5. There is significant correlation between psychological differentiation reliance among university students. In light of the findings, the researcher developed a number of recommendations and suggestions.
