STUDY OF SOME SPRING OF W-IRAQ AND IT'S EFFECT ON THE EUPHRATES RIVER

Abstract

ABSTRACT:Springs are natural eruptions of ground water to the surface of the earth. They areconsidered important sources of life. The hydrochemical study of the springs water samples shows thattheir water is of marine origin and characterized by highly solvent sulfate hydrogen. They affectdirectly the water of the Euphrates. The concentration of this gas is three times the permittedpercentage. It is dangerous as it is a poisonous gas besides the increase of salt : however, remainswithin the permitted limits in the water of the river. The hydrodynamic study showed that the water ofthese springs runs river-wise due to the rise of the hydrodynamic activity and the scarcity of thehydrocarbonic preservation as manifested through the appearance of water eruptions in some of thesesprings accompanied with hydro carbonic gases and tar. This can be an indication of petroleumpresence or their remains in the studied area. It is recommend that pollution is to be limited and thedetection of petroleum for commercial utilization. These sulfide springs can also be used as healthingplaces for dermal diseases.
