The Role of Technological Development in an Increase Industrial Output in Iraq Period (2004 – 2016)

Abstract

The research aims at analyzing the role of technological development as an important determinant in the process of growth of the industrial output in Iraq for the period (2004-2016), through several points represented in the definition of technological development and review of the contribution of industrial output to GDP. The level of industry is to answer the questions in the problem of research, the used method in the research is inductive method based on descriptive analysis and graphical analysis to prove the hypothesis of research. It is clear from the above that technological progress is a product of the accumulation of technological knowledge and skills over time in the economy in the so-called technological track. After conducting the analysis of the research data, the researcher reached a number of results, the most prominent of which is the low rate of contribution of industrial output to GDP. The percentage of contribution ranged between (1 - 2%) during the period of research, in addition to achieving acceptable rates in the low share of the productive unit of workers indicating that the technology has used an intensive capital. Thus, it is confirmed that technological developments, are better to be selected for their activities and the development of their means of financing. Technology is one of the main factors for increasing industrial output and achieving economic development .
