Response of Some Sorghum Genotypes ( Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) for levels of Potassium Fertilizer

Abstract

Afield trial was carried out in of Ramadi city in the center of Al-Anbar during spring season and fall season 2009 in private field to study the response of four sorghum genotypes to three lveles of potassium fertilizer . Factorial arrangemeul was use according to R.C.B.D. with four replicates . The level of potassium fertilizer were so ( 0 , 90 , 180 ) kg.k.ha-1 the cultivars ( Rabih , Babel , Inkath and Kafir ) the results showed that , the cultivar Babel gave highest grain yield ( 5.58 ) t.ha-1 and gave highest 1000 seed weight (32.31) gm in spring season, but in fall season the results showed that the cultivar Inkath gave highest grain yield 6.90 t.ha-1 and gave highest number of grain per head 2629.4 grain . The level of potassium 180 kg.k.ha-1 gave the highest value of flowering plant height , leaf area , number of grain per head and grain yield there was asignification interaction between genotypes and potassium levels on the all traits except the 1000 seed weight
