THEORETICAL INVESTIGATIONS OF STIFFNESSES AND DAMPING COEFFICIENTS OF THE WORKPIECE WITH GROOVES AND TOOL DURING CHATTER IN THE MACHINE TOOL

Abstract

The suitable experimental methods were used for measuring the mass, damping factor, damping coefficient and natural frequencies in both oblique and in orthogonal cutting. The stiffness of the headstock and tailstock are considered in the evaluation of the vibrational properties of the workpiece with grooves in oblique-cutting. The theoretical investigation was made also to calculate the stiffness and the damping coefficients in two axis directions included suitable and required mathematical method on the tested model in orthogonal- cutting
