The social climate in school life Anthropological study in a school in Mosul

Abstract

A school is an educational institution representing a cultural edifice in the society as it performs many and different functions via it’s administrative , scientific , and educational staffs who they work hard to create generations to lead the society institutions through raising them socially , educationally , and scientifically. It works in two directions : the first one is within the framework of the educational co-ordination to elevate the school position amongst other educational institutions , whereas the second one is within social construction of society , because it is part of the educational organization. Thus , it will embrace many social operations resulting from the interaction of a group of material and moral factors. Accordingly , the researcher preferred to do this paper to highlight the social reality in schools , including social operations and interactions amongst its individuals and group depending on a network of social relationships. Moreover , they create a specific social climate which might from a framework for the causal relationship between school and society. The researcher depends on the anthropological methodology will all its rules and tools through the researchers co-existence with the research society , in addition to the case study methodology after the selection of research community. This paper includes three sections along with preface and conclusion. The paper concludes, among other conclusions , that a school is a social and educational institution characterized by an integral and social organization along with supportive roles performing different functions at the level of individual , group , institution, and community. Besides, there is a mutual causal relationship between the school and community with its different organizations and institutions.
