Viscosities and excess properties For 7-[2,2-(1-phenylidene amino)-1,3,4 –( Thiadiazole- 5-yl)-thio acetamido]-Desacetoxy cephalosporanic Acid[PATDCA] And water at several temperatures

Abstract

Experimental values of viscosity are presented for the mixtures of 7-[2,2-(1-phenylidene amino)-1,3,4 – (Thiadiazole- 5-yl)- thio acetamido]- Desacetoxy cephalosporanic Acid [PATDCA] with water over the whole mole fraction range at 298.15 , 308.15 , 318.15 and 328.15 K.The data were used to calculate excess viscosity , ∆ln η and excess Gibbs energy of activation of flow ,∆G*E.Both ∆ln η and ∆G*E show a significant positive deviation from ideal mixing behavior over the whole mole fraction range and decreased with increasing temperature . The results have been discussed in terms of the nature of solvent – solute interaction in the mixture.
