Abstract

Tendency to heal with an abnormalscar7.The external ear is most prone tounfavorable wound responses such askeloids8. Earlobe keloids are commonresponse to ear piercing, especially infemales and darker skin individuals9.Keloids on the ears present severaltherapeutic challenges. They arecommon after small skin excisions andother procedures, including drainage ofauricular hematomas, repair of otherauricular traumas or as secondarykeloid formation after prior keloidexcision. Several treatment modalitiesare used for keloid such as surgeryalone or surgery combined with othermeasures with varying success rates.Today there is no agreement aboutwhich treatment modality willsignificantly solve the problem10.This paper report a case of a largebilateral post burn ear keloid on thehelical rim which was successfullytreated with surgery and intra-lesionalinjection of 5FU and Triamcinolon.
