STUDY ON POLLEN VIABLITY AND GERMINAITION IN SOME TABLE GRAPE CULTIVARS

Abstract

The study was conducted during 2000 growing season to investigate the viability and germination of pollens from grape cultivars tray rash. ibrahimy. askery. and igemy .The study was to test the viability and pollination of pollens of of deas AL anz ,roomy red, bade al hamam and abassy .The result showed that all these cultivars had perfect flowers with normal stamens except Abbacy cv . which had refluxed stamens.T he fresh pollen of all cultivars had a high viability when tested with acetocarmine except Abbasy . which showed a very low viability, tray rash and ibrahimy cultivars gave the highest percentage of pollens viability when growen on media containing 2g.agar and 15% sucrose.while abbacy cultivars gave a lower pollens viability. All cultivars did not need cross-pollination except abbacy cv
