Abstract

Abstract The research deals with the renewal of the conflict between Ottoman state and Muhammed Ali Pasha in 1839, the causes that lead to that conflict, and the European attitude towards it. The research has concentrated on studying the Russian diplomacy during the years of conflict renewal (1839-1841 A.D.) and its attitude towards the development of the discord between both parties as a result of the raising of independency thought from Ottoman state by Muhammad Ali Pasha, and the change in Russian diplomacy towards convergence with Britain, and its readiness to leave Hunkiar Skelesi treaty between both parites on 8 July 1833 A.D. This changement in diplomacy was due to Ottoman defeat before Egyptian army in the end of June 1938 A.D. In the light of a bove – mentioned, Russia a greed with Britain to solve the Egyptian – Ottoman conflict with the cooperation of Russia and Austeria in a conference hold for this purpose in London and obliging Muhammed Ali pasha to Fulfill the solution of London treaty, then, the Great states agreed to hold the treaty of straits on 13 July 1841 A.D. aiming to prevent the foreign warships from entering the Ottoman straits in the state of peace.
