Factorial Construction of Anthropometric Measurements for the Female Students of the college of Sport Education at Mosul University

Abstract

The study aimed at:Determining the simple anthropometric factor construction for the Female Students of the college of Sport Education at Mosul University. The population of the study included (75) sport education female students in all four grades in the academic year (2010-2011). The sample of the study consisted of (45) female students representing (60) % of the population and the method for collecting data used in the study included (26) anthropometric measurements including length, circumferences, width, and thickness of skinfolds. Data were analyzed by factor analysis using orthogonal rotation. The results of the study included: -Factor analysis using orthogonal rotation performed on (26) anthropometric measurements of the Female Students of Sport Education college showed eight factors form which six were accepted based on the applied conditions for accepting the factor .-The accepted factors resulting from the anthropometric measurements can be termed as follows :•Weight growth measurement factor •Body fat growth factor •Body length factor •Weight and circumference factors •Upper limbs width factor •upper and lower limbs lengths' FactorA number of measurements were derived based on the accepted factors that represent the anthropometric measurement indices including (leg circumferences , skinfolds for tricps musule, length of leg, body weight, width of shoulders, and length of foot)Keywords: Factorial construction-Anthropometric measurements- Female students
