The function of storytelling in Luci Tapahonso’s collection of poetry Sάanii Dahataał: The Women Are Dancing.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the function of storytelling in Luci Tapahonso’s collection of poetry entitled Sάanii Dahataał: The Women Are Dancing. Tapahonso uses the voice of the traditional storyteller in Sáanii Dahataał: The Women Are Singing as she draws upon an interactive, conversive storytelling style emphasizing the importance of women in the role of storyteller and culture bearer.
