Thermodynamic Profile of Some Heavy Metal Ions Adsorption on Charcoal Derived From Walnut Shell

Abstract

In this research, the charcoal derived was utilized for the removal of (Pb+2,Ni+2,Mn+2) ions from aqueous solutions. Adsorption process was attained to the equilibrium between (60,90 minutes) which investigated by using U.V-Visible spectrophotometer technique .The results show that the adsorption capacity dependent on weight which had better value (0.15,0.2 gm) . The capacity of Adsorption of pb+2 , Ni+2 and Mn+2 were 6.457mg/g,6.702 mg/g 7.956 mg/g.The effect of initial pH solution on adsorption capacity had been studied in the range (2-14).The Freundlich and Langmuir equations were applied ,and the parameter of those equations had been calculated .The extent of adsorption was found to decrease as the temperature increased, i.e. exothermic process, and so the thermodynamic functions ΔH, ΔG and ΔS were calculated .
