Effect of nitrogen fertilizer and potassium foliar and dates application on some growth characteristics and yield for (Zea mays L.) .vr.Bohoth 106.

Abstract

Afield experiment was in autumn seasons 2011 ,which was located on Abugarag districted 10 km west north of Babylon Governorate center . the experiment was laid in Randomized Complete Block Design with split-split plots arrangement with three blocks, the treatment included dates foliar potassium main plots (D1 ,30 days past planting, D2, flowering stage , D3 blister-kernels) , the sub plots content of nitrogen levels ( N1 ,320 kg .h-1 , N2, 360 kg .h-1 , N3, 400 kg .h-1) , the sub-sub plots content of three concentration potassium foliar application ( 0 , 1000 , 2000 ) mg k. L-1 . The levels nitrogen fertilizer N2 3360 kg N. h-1 significant gave the highest; plant height , leaf area , no.row/ear, 500 grain weight ,grain yield ; (223.39 cm , 6335 cm2 , 16.865 row ,141.99 g , 13.749tan/h-1 .compard with N1 320 kg / h-1 gave the lowest values (198.44cm , 5530 cm2, 14.200 row , 13.70g , 8.239 ta / h-1 ,the potassium concentration ,C2 (1000mgK.L-1 ) significant gave the highest average of number of rows ,weight 500 grain ,15.919row, 138.62g , ) compared with C3 (2000 mg k. L-1 ) gave the lowest values 5931cm2 , 15.37 row, 137.08g. The results also showed significant interaction between study factors in the most study characteristics. It can be concluded from this study that, in dates to foliar potassium application D2 , levels nitrogen fertilizer N2 (360kg.N/h-1) and potassium concentration C2(1000 mg K.L-1) ,growth characteristics and ultimately the yield of Zea mays L
