Abstract

Investigating the fine arts in Mesopotamia reveals that concepts and the religious and social beliefs had been representing the cornerstone in the arts of the ancient Man in the pre-historical and historical eras. The arts of ancient Mesopotamia contained some spiritual, and mythical dimensions that could give logical interpretation for the relationship between Man and the universe, nature, and the pantheon of gods. These dimensions represented many of the opinions and fancies concerning everything around the ancient Iraqis. This had made them represent the images of gods, persons, and animals in the from of dummies and terracotta plaques made by pottery molds of different rorms and sizes.The use of these dummies and terracotta plaques had been widespread among the inhabitants of Mesopotamia . They had been important artistic productions which had been used in the ritual and magic activities in the houses since the ancient Iraqis had believed that these artifacts could give them the good and protect them from the Evil.
