Abstract

Field experiment was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture - University of Wasit during the agricultural season 2009-2010 to reveal the impact of the amount of magnetized irrigation water and fertilizer application method on the absorption of potassium and nitrogen and the growth of corn at the stage of flowering. Split Split Plot Desgin with RCBD in three replicates was adopted . The first factor ( Main Plots) represents the method of fertilizer application (i.e. either with water irrigation or mixing with the soil) .The second factor ( Sub Plots) represents the quality of irrigation water (normal water irrigation and magnetized water irrigation ) and the third factor (Sub-Sub Plots) represents the amount of irrigation water added (75% of water consumption , 100% of water consumption , 125% of water consumption ). Results showed a significant effect of the amount of irrigation water , its quality and method of application of fertilizers, especially with magnetic irrigation water to increase the availability of nitrogen and potassium in the soil, which reflected positively on their concentration in the corn shoots and increased its dry matter at flowering stage .
