Attitudes of the Religious Authorities in Iran Towards the Internal Events Between 1962 to 1964

Abstract

The research deals with the attitudes of the religious authorities towards the internal events in Iran. Al-Shah Mohammad Ridha Behlewi and his government put a number of projects and rules to apply in various aspects of the political, economic, and social life. This had been tinged with a western secular colour so it was confronted with a negative reaction on the part of the religious authorities. Their objection increased resulting in hindering some of the laws such as the agricultural reform law in 1962 which requires taking up the lands from the feudal lords and giving them to the farmers
