The Ottoman Attitudes toward Sanusian Call 1840-1911

Abstract

This topic search in the nature of the relationships between Ottoman authorities in tow Provinces Tripoli and Cyrenaica(Barqa). This political administrative relation developed simultaneously with the emergence of Sanusi Call which was limitation it's interested the logical doctrine into a political one . The Sanusi call became en Emirate with wide boarders and had an influence in the connections with Ottoman state. It could be clearly noticed that this connection were affected , positively or negatively by the doubts of the ottoman Sultans, especially in the era of Sultan Abul Hameed II. It is certainly that was a great approach between Sanusians and the Ottoman rule of the time of anti- French opposition in Sahara . This cooperation with the Ottoman remain until the departure of the later who was left Barqa and western Tripoli behind as territories subject to the Sanusi principality .
