Abstract

Among the findings of the study is a clear change in the population structure of the population, (1997). In 1995, it was estimated that 99.8 males per 100 females, and the percentage of gender in the study area was higher than in rural areas. As for the age structure, the percentage of young people in the total area of study reached 46.5% of the total population in 1997, and then dropped to 44.5% in 2015. The middle age group recorded the highest percentage (49.8%) in 1997, then rose to (52.7%) in 2015, while the elderly category reached (3.5%) in 1997 while their percentage dropped to (The percentage of illiteracy was 23.8% for the general population at the age of education (1997). The increase was particularly noticeable in rural areas (28.6%) compared with 15.9%) In urban areas and the percentage of female illiterates was higher than that of males.
