Effectiveness of official Websites of Iraqi universities: A comparative study based on the popular search terms in the search engines within Google Trends Indicators

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the Iraqi universities websites, which are the electronic gates that provide services to the academic center at different levels, based on a new method based on indicators of search operations popular search engine provided by Google Trends. And try to improve those sites in a way that achieves their goals. The study found that most Iraqi universities websites are still below the level in attracting the attention of the beneficiaries. The study presented a set of recommendations that would increase the efficiency of these sites and improve the traffic on them.
