Criminal liability arising from dealing with narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances

Abstract

Our authentic Iraqi society was one of the cleanest societies that are free from the crime of dealing with narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. However, with the high level of events that were represented by wars, economic crises, deteriorating security situation and uncontrolled border with neighboring countries, especially after the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, Iraq is deeply regretted a hotbed of drug trafficking gangs in the promotion of these toxins and the introduction of various types of them to facilitate their abuse among young people and adolescents, and therefore must be concerted efforts to eliminate this phenomenon dangerous and alien to the Iraqi society.
