Geographical Analysis of Spinsterhood in Shatt Al-Arab District and its Effects and Methods of its Treatment in 2017

Abstract

The phenomenon of spinsterhood is one of the important social issues that have expanded after the political change in Iraq in 2003 and the occurrence of economic, social and cultural changes and alien Western habits invaded the Iraqi society. However, in return this phenomenon is kept silent, which has become ambiguous to the families on the one hand and successive governments on the other. This is due to his association with women in the first place since women make up one half of the society. Because of the sensitivity of this phenomenon in Iraqi society, including the Shatt Al-Arab District with the conservative rural social education, the research is to identify the main causes and social impacts experienced by women in the Shatt Al-Arab District under the political changes from a purely geographical perspective. With the research supplemented by a range of effective solutions, some of which fall on the designated bodies and the others fall on the woman and her family.
