Abstract

It is no secret to every follower that the Arabs, especially the Muslims, have contributed to the extension of civilization and the scientific movement in various fields and fields at different times. . The scientific encyclopedias were the eighth century AH in all fields of knowledge. The books of the encyclopedias included general descriptive geographical information that is not governed by a particular geographic officer. One of these encyclopedias is the book Sobh al-A'shah in the writing of Al-Ansha al-Qalqashandi, which is a large encyclopedia that includes various branches of knowledge, including geography. The article of geography is the second article of the encyclopedia, which consists of ten articles under the title "Tracts and Kingdoms." Al-Qalqashandi divides this article into four sections:Chapter One: In mentioning the land as a whole.Chapter Two: In mentioning the caliphate and its caliphs and their headquarters.The third part: in mentioning the Egyptian houses.Chapter 4: The mention of the Mamluks and the countries surrounding the Kingdom of the Egyptian Diyar.
