The Impact of the Guidance Programme through the Rational and Emotional Approach to Develop the Emotional Safety of Orphans Students in the Intermediate Stage

Abstract

The programme aims to identify the following: (The Impact of the Guidance Programme through the Rational and Emotional Approach to Develop the Emotional Sense of Orphans Students in the Intermediate Stage), thus can be verifying by testifying the following null hypotheses: 1.There are no statistically significant differences at level (0.5) between the scores of the experimental group before and after the application of the programme.2.There are no statistically significant differences at level (0.5) between the scores of the control group in pre and post tests.3.There are no statistically significant differences at level (0.5) between the scores of the experimental group and control group in postest. In order to identify the level of emotional safety of orphan students in the intermediate stage, the researcher built the measure of emotional safety according to Maslow's theory (1970).The sample is constructed from (200) orphans students in the intermediate stage and the scale consisted of (24) items in its initial form. After presenting it to a group of jury members and specialists in counseling and psychology, they recommended to modify (4) items because they are not clear to the respondents. The scale instructions are set and the number of the options are set (Applicable with high degree, Applicable with middle degree, Not applicable), and the method of correction and application of the survey of the scale in order to know the clarity of the instructions, calculate the time and verify the validity of the scale by indicators of the construction validity. The power factor of the standard scales is calculated by the two extreme groups and the internal consistency method. All correlation coefficients are statistically significant and this shows that all items of the scale are distinct and none of the items have been dropped. It is then confirmed that the meter is stable in two ways the first one is by the method of re-testing where the coefficient of correlation is (0.84) and the other one by Cronbach's Alpha method where the correlation coefficient is (0.86). The scale in its final form consists of (24) items and for the purpose of preparing an guidance programme in the rational and emotional style and to determine the sample of the experiment. The researcher applied the scale to a sample of (61) female students and tested the students who obtained grades below the theoretical mean of the emotional sense of safety measure. Where the number of female students (20) and the number of (10) students per group. The researcher used the experimental method and the equivalence is done in several variables. Data are processed by using the statistical means by the ( SPSS) programme : Chi-square test, Pearson correlation coefficient, T-test of two independent samples, Cronbach's alpha equation, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Mann-Whitney test, Wolskoskin test for two independent samples and Wilcoxon test for two correlation samples. The number of sessions of the guidance programme is (2) sessions per week. After the implementation of the programme, the measure is applied on both groups (post-test) The results show that the rational and emotional method has affected on the development of emotional safety among orphans students in the intermediate stage according to the results of the research, the researcher reached to a number of conclusions, recommendations and proposals
