Abstract

A Letter to YazidA poem written by Badr Shakir AL-Sayabb(Content and Structure Study)Dr.Fadhil Abdulameer ShareefCenter of revival heritage/University of Baghdad Abstract:Kerblaa' battle is considered one of the most tragic of the human heroism that devotes to achieve the cultural change in the society .The hero of this battle is Imam Hussein Bin Ali and his family . The religious heredity is always recalled utilized artificially by the Arab poet in general and Badr Shakir AL-Sayabb , the Iraqi poet in specific is an attempt to understand the Arab reality in the shiny past , and mysterious present time loaded with inequity and tyranny .The poet here addresses Yazid as symbol of inequity and tyranny, using irony and mockery to reflect the bad fate Yizid had been led to ,on one hand , and to upraise the status of Imam Hussein Bin Ali and his heroic position that made him the symbol of resistance and the eternity he had attained at last .This type of poems is actually what is needed intensively by the Arab and Islamic world in the light of the compulsion , deprivation , poverty , and corruption existed everywhere.
