The Role of Training Programs in Developing Teaching Skills for Physical Education Teachers in Riyadh

Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of training programs in the development of teaching skills for Physical Education in Riyadh. It also addresses the most important aspects that limit the role of these programs, and the most prominent proposals that may contribute to the strengthening of the role of training programs. The researchers used the descriptive method in their survey and designed a questionnaire that consisted of three axes. The study sample included (53) teachers of various public schools in the north of Riyadh. Results shown uncovered a great role for training programs in the development of teaching skills for teachers of the city of Riyadh, and pointed out that one of the most significant shortcomings limiting the role of these programs is the lack of training programs for the appropriate workshops. The results also indicated that providing trainees with bags and training kits before the start of the training program as well as the continuous updating and development of the training programs is one of the most important factors to take into account.
