Some volumetric properties of aqueous solution of Polyvinyl alcohol over temperature range 298.15-328.15K.

Abstract

The densities of aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol with molecular weight (14kg.mol-1) have been determined over temperature range298.15-328.15K.From these data, the volumes for the binary mixtures studied here were calculated .The volumes have been found linearly dependent on the solute molality (PVA), from this dependence , the partial molar volumes at infinite dilution ( ) were determined and it was found that the ( ) concentration independent and slightly increase with increasing temperature .The thermal expansion coefficient ( )of aqueous solution of (PVA) at 298.15K was calculated and it was found that the values of ( )were higher than the value ( ) of pure water .
