Harold Pinter and Iraq: An Analysis of War

Abstract

This research paper is an attempt at placing Harold Pinter’s view of Iraq within his general humanitarian, political and antiwar outlook. The text selected for analysis is his verse volume War, published in 2003. The paper traces Pinter’s interest in Iraq as reflected in his writings and speeches from the early1990s to his 2005 Nobel Prize acceptance speech in order to provide the background against which the volume is analyzed.
