الإعجاز الصوتي في سورة (الكافرون)

Abstract

A Phonetic Study of Al-Kaafiruun SuraThe sura of Al-Kaafiruun (The Disbelievers) reveals the compromise of worshipping that was active at the time in Quraish. This theme is indicated by the rhyme succession of the verses in the sura. The recurrence of the alveolar lateral /1/ and the pharyngeal fricative /2/ in the inhibitory term (laa) [No/1 (You) don’t, in this sura)], and the expressions of worshipping respectively, uncover the attempt to uproot delinquence. Also, the highest percentages marked in this sura alone for the occurrence of voiced phonemes and plosives, 90.7% and 32% respectively, compared to other suras in the 'Samma' section, enhances the singnificance of the sura in publically declaring the strong call for the worship of Allah. This is embodied in the sura beginning with the imperative verb 'qul' (say). On the other hand, the sura marks the lowest percentage of occurrence of velarized sounds, (1.03%) in the Samma section, which expresses the throwing of the disbelievers to the rock bottom.
