Arnold Toynbee and his relation with the Britain imperialism institution 1889-1975

Abstract

This research starts off from the basic supposition which states that the western historian presents his environment and his own civilization features whatever advanced his belonging and his scientific knowledge was. This theory applies clearly on the Britain historian prof. Arnold Toynbee as a citizen of the western civilization, the son of the Britain imperialism institution also؛ he served there many long years of his life and he made important tasks there like: supervising the international affairs survey, presenting studies and researches helped in developing the international knowledge in it. He presented the relationship between his western society and other societies, especially the Islamic one which was the most threatening to his western civilization. He viewed the Islamic world from two points; first the matter of Westernization, second the unity of Pan – Islamic world.
