The Effect of some powders plant in Trogoderma granarium Everts (Coleoptera :Dermestidae)

Abstract

In this study three types of leave's plants powders are mixed with wheat grains at four concentrations 0.5 , 1.0 ,2.5 and 5.0 gm /Kgm to estimate their effect on biology of Trogoderma granarium Everts for two sequent generations . These plant's powder are e Ruta graveoleus , Mentha piperita and Pelargonium odovatissium .The results indicated that these powders affected the biology of this insect especially in the second generation. Since the number of larvae decreased to 37.0 , 38.83 and 40.08 for R. graveoleus, M. piperita and P. odovatissium consequently as compared to 62.3 larva for the control . Also the powders caused death to larvae and pupae during its growth and development , and this leads to reduce the number of insects in both generations and about half control in the second generation . The results showed that the kind of powder which is used has significant effect on the larva preference when given free feeding choose , and they preferred wheat grains treated with R. graveoleus for all used concentrations.
