Abstract

The planktonic foraminifera within Aliji and Jaddala formations are studied in Kirkuk will No. 112, North Iraq, between dirlled depth (1020–1210)m. Seven biostratigraphic zone are recognized: 1.Morozovella velascoensis Zone (P 5 & P. 6). 2.Morozovella s. subbotinae Zone (P. 7).3.Morozovella aragonensis– Morozovella f. formosa Zone (P. 8).4.Acarinina bullbrooki Zone (P. 10). 5.Globigerapsis s. subconglobata Zone (P. 11). 6.Subbotina frontosa boweri – Morozovella lehneri Zone (P. 12). 7.Truncorotaloides r. rohri Zone (P. 14).The results of this study are compared with that done inside and outside Iraq. The age of Aaliji is recognized, extending from Upper Late Paleocene to Early Eocene and that of Jaddala is Early Eocene to Late Middle Eocene.
