Abstract

AbstractThe study aims at: 1.Identifying self esteem level in general for female students at the Department of Physical Education/ College of Education for Girls at University of Mosul.2.Identifying self esteem and academic level in general for female students at the Department of Physical Education/ College of Education for Girls at University of Mosul. 3.Identifying the relation between level of self esteem and academic level in the practical curriculum for female students at the Department of Physical Education/ College of Education for Girls at University of Mosul.Descriptive approach was used for its suitability. The study sample consists of (10) female students at Department of Physical Education/ College of Education for Girls/ University of Mosul. Rosenberg scale for self esteem, translated by Al Kashif (2004), was used and it consisted of (10) items. Truth and validity measures were applied to assure the scale suitability. Mean, standard deviation and simple correlation coefficient were used as the statistical means. The study concluded with the following: 1.There are positive levels, above the medium, for female students at Department of Physical Education/ College of Education for Girls concerning self esteem. 2.There is a significant relation between self esteem and general academic level. 3.There is a significant relation between self esteem and academic levels concerning practical curriculum.
