The effect of using strategy (KWL) developing the tactical thinking in football and the awareness of cognitive processes

Abstract

- discovering the impact (KWL) strategy in the awareness of cognitive processes for students at the third academic year in the college of Physical Education.- Identifying the differences between the two groups of the research in tactical thinking in football and awareness of cognitive processes of students at the third academic year in the college of Physical Education.The researcher used the experimental method to achieve the goals of the research. The research population represented by students from third academic year at the college of Physical Education at the University of Salahaddin, and the sample was selected randomly divided into two groups each one has (28) students, experimental group studied according to the strategy (KWL) and the control group studied according to currently followed manner. The researcher took into account the equivalence between the two groups in variables that have an influential role in the dependent variables. The data collection was done by means of two instruments: the tactical thinking test and the awareness of cognitive processes scale .Educational program was designed according to (KWL) strategy, then it was reviewed to certain experts and specialists have been applied to the program of the experimental group. At the end of the program, the researcher applied the test of tactical thinking and the scale of awareness of cognitive processes for both the experimental and the control group. After collecting data and treating them statistically, the results showed that there were significant differences between the experimental and the control group, in tactical thinking and awareness of cognitive processes and in favor for the group experimental.In light of results of the research, it has been reached to a set of conclusions: -The experimental group who studied according to the (KWL) strategy showed more superiority than of the control group who studied according to the followed manner of the tactical thinking and awareness of the dimensions of standard cognitive processes.The researcher recommended the need to use strategy (KWL) in the teaching plans of offensive and defensive football.
