A Proposed Function To Synthesize Both Symmetrical And Asymmetrical Magnetic Lenses

Abstract

A new analytical function to start the synthesis procedure has beenintroduced in the present work. This function is applied to both symmetricand asymmetric magnetic lenses. The proposed expression has beencarried out to approximate the axial magnetic field strength and hence itscorresponding magnetic flux density distribution. Thereby, severaloptimization parameters arise by means of the suggested function. Theinfluence of each of these parameters on thc objective focar properties andthe reconstructed polepiece profile has been investigated. The results haveshown a new approach concerning the positions from which the borediameter and air gap should be measured.
