Effect of GA3 , NAA and wax Vapor – Gard on physical and chemical characteristics of local apple fruits

Abstract

This study was carried out on privat orchard at AL-Abbasyia . Najaf for season 2004 and 2005 on the local apple fruit propagated from seed stalk . The trees were spraying with three concentration of GA3 (50 , 75 and 100) mg / L , NAA (10 , 20 and 30) mg / L and V-G (1,2and 3)% after 70 days from full bloom stage . Fruits were piked after 120 days from full bloom . The result indicated that length , diameter , weight , firmness and humidity of fruits in creasing with increase concentration of GA3 , NAA and V – G . Also reduced percentage of cracking , T.S.S , acidity , Vitamin C and respiration of fruits for two seasons . There was significant differences between these treatments .The concentration of GA3 100 mg /L gave the best results on length , diameter , weight , firmness and cracking of fruits ,it was (7.24 ,7.40) cm , (6.98, 7.10) cm , (1.43 ,19.,145,42) g,(8.77 , 8.37 )kg/cm2 and (4.30 , 4.97 )% for two season respectively .
