Abstract

The Effect of Using Cooperative Teaching Method in Developing The Performance Level of Commencement Strike Skill in Volleyball Lamyaa Hassan Aldewan , Sa'ad Layeth Abdul-Kareem ,Taiba Hussein Abdel RasoulKeywords: teaching method, cooperative education, performance accuracy, serving skill facing volleyball, volleyball skillsAbstract In the introduction, we discussed the necessity of involving the new educational and teaching methods rather than traditional ones that they don’t depend entirely on teacher's method in obtaining knowledge only, but we should give students an opportunity to teach him/herself rather than depending on the teacher, the cooperative method in teaching gives a cooperative opportunity and the unity among members of a group for activating skills which leads to the active reaction among the members "which effects on the activity of learning motion skills, the importance of the research concentrating on involving this method to teach the skill of commencement strike in volleyball and contribute in promote collective work and facilitate reaching to the required level of development to students. The objective of the research explains the effect of using cooperative teaching method in developing the performance of commencement strike skill in volleyball. The two researchers hypothesizes that learning by using cooperative teaching has a positive effect in developing the performance level of commencement strike skill in volleyball. The research was experimental to (24) students at second stage in University of Basrah for the academic year (2006-2007), the results were treated by using the rule (T test), and they were exposed, analyzed, discussed and concluded that learning by cooperative teaching method contributed in developing the skillful performance level and recommended the necessity of following this method in teaching.
