Abstract

AbstractColour represents a remarkable phenomenon in Omar Ibn Abi Rabya's poetry as seen in his love of colours, perfumes and beauty in an environment in which entertainment, singing, luxury are common. The research aims at knowing this phenomenon and revealing the poet's vist in to life and things through its representation and employment in the poet's poetry. The research studies colour in three aspects that represented the total Phenomenon in his poetry. Firstly, direct and bright colour. Secondly, indirect and dark colour, thirdly, colour signification, I,e.directly stating the colour in the poetic text. The research shows the importance of colour in enriching the form and content of the text.
