Synthesis of Metal Complexes Derived from Salicylidene p-Aminoacetophenone

Abstract

The Schiff base ligand (HL) has been prepared by the reaction of paminoacetophenonewith salicylaldehyde. This ligand was used to prepare complexesof the type [ML2(H2O)2], (where M 2+ = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Cu). The resultingproduct was found to be solid which have been characterized using FTIR and UV-VISspectroscopy. Elemental analyses have been performed using atomic absorptiontechnique; the magnetic susceptibility and the conductivity have also been measured.
