"The Effect of Two Styles of Mental Training (direct and indirect) on Learning some Basic Offensive Skills in Basketball"

Abstract

The research aims at the following:-1-Revealing the effect of two styles of mental training on learning some basic offensive skills in Basketball.2-Revealing the effect of traditional styles on learning some basic offensive skills in Basketball.3-Revealing the differences in post test between the three groups on learning some basic offensive skills in Basketball.-Experimental method was used to suit the nature of study, the sample consists of (30) students of the first year in the college of sport education, Salahaddin university 2007, are divided into three groups (10) students for each group. The first group was control and the others are empirical, the three groups were equaled in some variables. The researchers has used interviews, questionnaires, tests and measurements as a means of collecting information of the study. Three basketball learning programs are-set which performs according to the three learning styles, to the control group and to the two empirical groups.-The three learning programs consists of (36) units, (12) learning units for each group, that covers (6) weeks, two learning units for each week, the time was (90) minutes for each learning units. The researchers have concluded the following:1-the two styles of mental training in addition to the traditional style through the three learning programs, have a positive effect on learning some basic offensive skills in Basketball.2-The indirect mental training style has exceeded the direct mental training style on learning some basic offensive skills in Basketball.3-The direct mental training has exceeded the traditional style on learning some basic offensive skills in Basketball.
