Wood's Coating by Polymeric Materials for Fire Resistance


The research involves using phenol – formaldehyde (Novolak) resin for makingNovolak compact with hexamethyltetraamine (HMTA ) in different ratio (15%) and(20%) by weight , also this work involves preparing composite material by usingNovolak as a matrix , while flint was used as resin forcing material and makingcomposite compact with ratio of hardener (15%) and (20%) by weight. The researchwas studied some of thermal properties such as thermal conductivity and thermalErosion resistance. The results show that the flint and increasing the (HMTA) leads toincrease thermal Erosion resistance and thermal conductivity . The results show thatthe immersion in water leads to increase thermal conductivity .
