Effect of chemical control and hand hoeing of weeds in broad been (Vicia faba L.) yields and components

Abstract

Experiment was conducted in one of the fields in the district of Shirqat/ Salahuddin province for two years 2010/2011 to study the effect of some chemical pesticides and hand hoeing on Broad bean yield and its components. Used in the experiment five treatments to combat weeds including treatment comparison (without weeding) included treatment grubbing hand, pesticide Fuzilade (Fluazi fop-butyl) concentration 25% by 2000 cm³/ha after germi- nation, pesticide Bazagran Bentazone concentration of 48% by 3000 cm³/ha after germination and finally the pesticide Fuzilade + pesticide Bazagran and using complete randomized block design (CRBD) with three replications, the results showed no significant differences between the treatment of hand hoeing and mixing two pesticide together in all traits and both years. the treatment of hand hoeing and mixing two pesticide together Outperformed than other control treatments for two years in all traits except 100-seed weight status. All Control treatments led to a significant drop in the percentage of both broad and grassy leaves weeds such as Phalaris minor , Chenopodium album , Trifolium resupinatum , Sinapis arvensis and Sinapis arvensis. Fuzilade Pesticide showed effective influence on grassy leaves weeds annuals and perennials such as Phalaris minor, Cynodon dactylon and Cyperus rotundus. While Bazagran pesticide showed effectively influenced the annuals and perennials both grassy and broad leaves weeds.
