Variance Evaluation of the Electronic Energy-Loss Straggling for Swift Hydrogen- dicluster Using Harmonic Oscillator Model

Abstract

In the present work, the straggling ratios of individual proton and of hydrogen-dicluster in random and aligned orientations have been calculated, as well as the variance of the energy-loss straggling of hydrogen-dicluster in (C, Al, Ar and Xe) through a FEG with harmonically bounded electrons have been calculated in the present work. The same behavior was found for proton and hydrogen-dicluster at high velocities, where relative straggling equal to the around integer one. At low and intermediate velocities the straggling takes values below one A comparison has been made between the variance of individual proton and hydrogen-dicluster, they have the same velocity penetrating the same selected targets. The calculation gives good results; these results were agreement with previous works.In fact, the investigation of energy loss straggling of hydrogen-dicluster has been achieved by using HO-model. A program ―Jbr-HOvar. for‖ written in Fortran-90 language to solve numerically the mathematical equations of calculation using software Compaq Visual Fortran (CVF 6.6).Atomic units have been used throughout calculations in the present work.
