Estimate the amount of illicit Traded Funds in the Iraqi economy for the period (1991 to 2010)

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe phenomenon of laundering money is one of the most modern economic crimes that are usually associated with organized crime, particularly crimes of terrorism and the smuggling of weapons, drugs and political corruption --- etc. As one of the most serious crimes of the era of the digital economy, this phenomenon has come as a result of criminal activities made significant illegal financial returns . Most countries are suffering from this type of crime, But this crime increase in those countries which has different kinds of corruption ,because of administrative and judicial surveillance or because of the inefficiency of the security agencies in detection of those crimes.Due to the growing crime of money laundering and the evolution of technology particularly the economic and social risks and its impact on society , our study come to explore the information and facts about this phenomenon. In the absence of accurate figures or statistics reveal the magnitude of the phenomenon, from here our research set out to explore the information and facts about this phenomenon, which took widening in recent years within the Iraqi economy in an attempt to measure the size of illicit money in it.The researcher was able to reach a model to measure how much money is legitimate in Iraq depending on the basis of "Demanded Ia monnaie: V.Tanzi 1982" model, after adding a set of economic variables to this model , which derived from the existing situation of Iraqi economy .
